How should I prepare my images for digital upload? What file format?
You should submit JPEG images saved with max quality compression with a long dimension of at least 1,000 pixels at 72 to 300 dpi.

What is an entry?
An entry consists of one image or a series of images. Each single entry costs $45, each series entry costs $55. Student entry is $25.

Is there a limit to the number of photos or categories that I can enter?
No, you can enter as many as you wish to pay for.

How many images are allowed in a series?
We allow 2-6 images per series.

What is the Arnold Newman entry?
Check off the Arnold Newman when you register. Then submit your series work into Photo Journalism, Personal Work, or Magazine Editorial. Arnold Newman only awarded for the categories listed and for series submission.

How do I enter a website?
Take a screen-shot of you website and upload as the image. In the 'Caption' text field (upon image upload) include the URL.

Will there be print and online winners in each category?
Yes, PDN will awards multiple publication in print and online in every category, please see last years gallery to view how winners are displayed.

Can I enter if I live outside of the U.S.?
Definitely.

When will the winners be announced?
We will contact all winners in January 2010. We will publish the winning entries in the May 2010 issue of PDN. Please do not call us regarding the status of your entry, if you are selected, we will contact you in late January.

Can I mail in a Book or Corporate Design submission?
Mailed Submission are accepted only for the PHOTO BOOKS and CORPORATE DESIGN categories. For mailed submissions, register on the website first and pay your entry fee. Include your e-mail address (your pdnphotoannual.com registered user) and contact information with the package.
Submitted materials will not be returned. All entries must be post marked before the deadline!

Can I pay by check?
Yes, make the check payable to Photo District News with a memo: Photo Annual. Use the mailing address below.
